1/20: View/Discuss TED Talk by Baratunde Thurston hosted by Unitarian Church of Sharon, MA (7:30 p.m)

“In honor of MLK Day, the Anti-Racism Working Group (ARWG) will be hosting this VIRTUAL event, which will consist of a viewing and follow-up discussion of a 17-minute Ted Talk by Baratunde Rafiq Thurston entitled How to Deconstruct Racism, One Headline at a Time. In the video, he explores the phenomenon of white Americans calling the police on Black Americans who have committed the crimes of … eating, walking or generally ‘living while Black’.” This video is both funny and deeply powerful and it provides an approach to help us move away from the violence of a white supremacist culture towards a culture of healing and non-violence. Registration is required. All registrants will receive a ZOOM LINK a few days before the event.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE ZOOM LINK: Registration Form

Should you wish to view the video prior to the event OR
if you are unable to join us on the 20th and would like to watch the video on your own, here is the link. “
