Join us for a morning of reflection, conversation and connection.

With Emily Hedrick

Don’t miss Emily Hedrick, author of How to Treat Your Body Like a Sacred Text, on Sunday, January 26 at 10:30 at All Souls Church in Braintree. Emily invites us to explore how our bodies can guide us in healing from harmful religious experiences through her work as a resilience coach. Emily helps others reconnect with themselves, and rediscover a sense of wholeness. This sermon offers a thoughtful, practical perspective on what it means to truly honor the wisdom within.

Emily will be available for questions and to sign copies of her book during coffee hour following the service.

Emily Hedrick is a resilience coach specializing in recovery from religious trauma and compassion fatigue. A former pastor, she blends her background in ministry with trauma-informed practices to help others find wholeness and healing. You are cordially invited to a transformative Sound Healing Journey. Immerse yourself in a symphony of soothing sounds and gentle vibrations, designed to soothe your mind, body, and soul.

During this immersive experience, you will be guided through a meditative journey using a variety of instruments, including:

  • Singing Bowls

These instruments will create a harmonious soundscape that will promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance your overall well-being.

We’ll have a special guest to help facilitate our journey. Barbara Strassman who was raised in a household where hands on healing, meditation, yoga and metaphysical studies were everyday occurrences. Her understanding of the universe and the interconnectedness of everyone and everything, and her nonjudgmental approach makes her an excellent facilitator.

We look forward to sharing this healing experience with you.

We host a coffee hour with refreshments after Sunday service.

The Five Points Cluster congregations choose a specific Sunday once every month or so where we gather to share worship together at one of our churches. It is a wonderful way to experience different kinds of worship, get to know our neighbors and siblings in faith, and offer hospitality to one another.

This Worship Service will be held in person and via Zoom.us and is hosted by All Souls Braintree.

New ways of engaging ourselves and others in our UU community and beyond

WEAV is various intentions woven together. The threads consist of practices for the heart, body and mind to engage participants. These same threads are also introductions to various fields of knowledge and ways of knowing. The ten very distinct sessions take participants on a journey through an overview of a repair process which can be practiced in your congregation.

In addition, the sessions provide participants with differing paradigms of learning to experience new ways of engaging ourselves and others in our UU community and beyond. There are times when the sessions might seem unconnected. Yet, all of the various sessions are to provide insight into the complexity of the issue of antiracist work involving spiritual, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.

The learning emphasis is placed on the growth and transformation and concluding commitments of each participant as a UU, as we grow in community and witness each other’s growth and are witnessed for our own.

Our ten Zoom session commitment begins January 11, 2025, meeting on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, through May 24, 2025. Each session is approximately 90 minutes, from 10am-11:30am ET.

Please contact Kellie Kinsman (mkelliekinsman@gmail.com) with any questions you may have, and to register for WEAV! The Zoom link will be provided to all who register.

I look forward to this journey with you!
