“Poetry Sunday” – Five Points Cluster Shared Worship Service hosted by Foxborough Universalist Church

 

UUFoxborough - Foxborough Universalist Church, UUAThe Five Points Cluster congregations choose a specific Sunday once every month or so where we gather to share worship together at one of our churches. It is a wonderful way to experience different kinds of worship, get to know our neighbors and siblings in faith, and offer hospitality to one another.

Topic:  “Poetry Sunday”

During Poetry Sunday, congregants and friends from Five Points Cluster churches share poems that inspire them and provide meaning to their life.

Worship Service begins at 10:00 a.m., in-person at Foxborough Universalist Church and on-line through Zoom.

“Join us virtually for the largest annual gathering of UUs in worship. Sunday Worship will be live-streamed here at this link. No registration required. DVR controls, which provide the ability to pause and rewind the live event, will be available. Rev. Molly Housh-Gordon preaching. We will open the church for a Virtual Worship watch party at 1 PM, stay tuned for the possibility of a brown bag lunch beforehand.”

Soulful Sundays: Every Other Sunday, beginning June 30, 2024 (3:00 p.m.)

 


This summer, join First Parish for a series of relaxed, contemplative worship gatherings and theme discussions called Soulful Sunday, based on the Soulful Sundown programs offered at UU congregations across the country (and even the world!)

  • During each session, there will be gathering music, a story or reading, a time for shared reflection on the theme, a time to share meaningful poetry, music, or other art, and a sharing of our joys and sorrows.
  • Soulful Sunday gatherings will take place at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
  • Snacks and beverages will be provided, but feel free to bring additional contributions!

In 2024, Soulful Sundays will be held:

  • June 30
  • July 14
  • July 28
  • August 11
  • August 25

These will be held in person at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Canton.

“First Parish UU-Canton once again is pleased to partner with the Town of Canton’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (CDEI) to host the Town of Canton’s Pride Day Event!”

  • The event will occur on the church lawn (if weather is poor, it will move into the Parish Hall)
  • Featured singer performer will be Jack Colton McGrath, who is a local member of the LGBTQI+ community and who also has appeared on American Idol!
  • There will be other youth singers and local speakers, PRIDE flags, and PRIDE inspired food snacks!
