Public Speaker Forum

“Columbus Day vs. Indigenous Peoples Day: What’s the Point?”

Join us for a free family-friendly interactive learning experience exploring myths of both Columbus and Thanksgiving, led by Thomas Green, Vice President of the Massachusetts-Ponkapoag Tribal Council, with assistance from Canton Public School teacher and Chair of the Canton Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee (CDEI), Naomi Akan. Naomi poses these questions to young people: “What do you notice? What do you wonder?” This event is a jointly sponsored public speaker forum by the CDEI and the First Parish UU-Canton (FPUU). Healthy snacks will be provided and this free event is geared to all ages. Location: 1508 Washington Street.
